The primary objective of the Medications, Nutritional Assistance, Vitamin Supplementation (MNV) program is the procurement and free distribution of (1) medications to treat opportunistic infections associated with HIV/AIDS, (2) nutritional assistance to combat malnutrition, (3) vitamin supplementation to remedy dietary deficiencies.
In keeping with HTH’s mission to promote health as a human right, HTH Initiatives strive to address cost as the most significant barrier to receiving care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS in poverty. Systemic poverty prevents members from seeking or receiving care. Therefore, HTH Initiatives provide not only free medical and psychosocial consultations, but also treatment regimens free of charge to people who have no means of paying.
Under the direction of the medical and psychosocial directors, the MNV program manages on-site pharmacies, which distribute medicines for opportunistic infections, nutritional assistance, and vitamin supplementation.
