"AED-Lidaw's use of technology is significantly ahead of any other groups working in Togo," says the head of monitoring and evaluation for the National Program to Fight AIDS (PNLS). On an unannounced visit the PNLS representative was pleasantly surprised by AED-Lidaw's electronic data and medical records systems. He graciously thanked HTH for our systematic efforts to introduce and improve HIV/AIDS treatment in Togo.

Association Espoir pour Demain (AED-Lidaw) = Hope for Tomorrow

Hope Though Health (HTH) and Association Espoir pour Demain (AED-Lidaw) became official working partners February 1, 2005 with a shared long-term commitment to pioneering a model program that delivers comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in a resource poor setting. The Community Directed HIV Initiative (The Initiative), conceived and launched in June 2005, involves the piloting of such an approach, called Community Directed Initiative Plus (CDI+), in the Kara Region of Togo, West Africa.

The Initiative aims to build and support the capacity of AED-Lidaw to provide comprehensive medical and psychosocial services to over 1000 individuals infected with HIV/AIDS. The Initiative is funding, coordinating, and supporting basic services and programs, including associated operating costs.
